Here's what you need:
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 3 T. water
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
12 oz. package chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350.
Once you figure out how to work the mixer...
"How do these go in here?"
"How do you get the top to go down?"
"What does this do?"
"Ok, I get it now."
Oh. Mygosh! Do you SEE the dirt under her nails!?
...and we really need to practice cracking eggs, not squishing them.
Cream together shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
Add soda dissolved in water.
Blend in flour, baking soda and salt.
Add chocolate chips.
The recipe said we could either drop spoon fulls onto cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
dump all the dough into sheet pan & bake for 20 minutes or until entire top of cookie is brown.
We chose to dump & be done with it.
They really ARE the Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Brother was a little out of sorts because they were square. "Where's the round cookies?" he said.
So Big Daddy cut his square into a circle and all was good.
Every last bite!
