This sweet guy's name is Dusty.  On hot days he rolls and rolls and he's usually covered in dust.  Hence, Dusty.  He is very lovable but he doesn't quite know what to think about my camera.  He was funny.  He ended up turning his back on me, but then he would turn and look at me like "hey, aren't you gonna take another one?"  My daughter said, "Hey mom, he's looking but not looking!"  It's funny because our dog Maisy's the same way.

pink rainbow

The Pink Rainbow...it sounds like a creative blog tittle doesn't it?

The other day, I think it was Monday, I took Carody to cheer practice.  It was 6:30 a.m. and it had just finished raining.  As I sat in the McDonalds drive waiting for my coffee fix, the sun started to come up.  As it did the sky turned this pink color AND this rainbow appeared!  I kid you not, these pictures are straight out of the camera!  If I had my good camera with me...and some decent clothes on {I was in my night gown and a hoodie..*eeps!*} I would have worked it!

Anyway...just wanted to share 'em with ya!

The Start of Something New

Today was the first day of school at our house.  It was such a long, loooong winter that the summer has come and gone way too fast!  We're starting a new chapter in our house.  Carody is going to the High School and Caden is headed to Jr. High.  I can hardly believe it.  I hear the words coming out of my mouth, but it's like someone else is saying them.  It's kinda strange.

Carody - Freshman

Caden - 6th Grade

I'm very proud of them both. They're good kids...very smart, talented and kind. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us all. I will be your cheerleader guys. You can count on me. Always!

Chiefs Spirit Day!

Friday night was the Chiefs Cheerleader's Spirit Day and Carody's cheer team was part of the halftime show!  It was so SO Exciting!  The Chiefs played like poo, but it was fun watching the kids.  This was Caden's first time at Arrowhead, his smile and big eyes were priceless.  Carody and her friends had a blast!  Their hard work really showed.  I think she is still smiling!

I am so very proud of you and your friends!  I'm looking for to a great year!

Show Off your Shot

I know, I know...it's slightly out of focus.  That's ok.  I love this picture anyway.  The genuine smiles are very much worth it.

Wordless Wednesday

I just love this silhouette!  I'm into silhouette pictures at the moment...I don't know why.  And frozen grapes.  And asparagus.  Anywho, this was the view on my way home the other night.  It's so peaceful and calm, it makes me want to cuddle.

Editing Sunsets: Before & After

I was over at Live, Love, Travel reading Jaymis post Editing Sunsets.  I have recent sunset photos, so I thought I would play a little.

Before:  SOOC

After:  I adjusted the blacks as Jaymi suggested.  Then ran PW's Boost at 100%.

And after that:  I thought it was a little dark, so I adjusted the blacks again and ran PW's Boost at 50%.

So...what do you think?

If you would like to check out some "Good to Wow" tips, head on over and see Jaymi.  You'll be glad you did.

Alone at the Lake

Last weekend we got some time to ourselves at the lake.  Usually we go with family and it's a packed house.  Not this time.  It was just us.  Quiet.  Calm.  Relaxing.  And boy oh boy did we enjoy it!
